Double B-day Party

So today we have a double birthday party. Thank goodness its at the same home for two children in the same family. That always make it easier. The card for the little boy that is turning 1 I pulled out of my stash and just put a 1 on it. I was going to post the card but realized I already did about a month ago. So your just going to see the 7 year old girl's card. You color gals need to give me some tips on coloring black hair. I was not sure how to do this and did not want the hair to come out grey. If you have tips tell me what Copics, Bics, etc you use.

I used Splitcoast Stampers sketch SC157.

Here is my card:

cute card, I'm sure she will like it!
In terms of colouring the hair, I would recommend using three different greys in the high range, such as N9, N7, N5 and then using the blender pen to take the colour away in key spots....I'll be watching to see what other folks recommend as this is a really tough thing to colour!

This is very cute! I was watching a tutorial on Susanne Dean's blog, using copics on black hair. She used 3 shades of dark gray, no black actually. She stared with the dark shades, down to the lightest shade. Then used a white gel pen to give it highlights. Here is the link: http://www.scrapbitz-tutorialsandtemplates.blogspot.com/

She is gorgeous! I also follow Suzanne Dean's tutorial for Copic coloring, but I have used a blue with my grays before. I always use at least 3 Copic colors. When I use the Prismacolors, I always outline with the darkest and use a rule of at least 3 colors.

Hugs,
Marsha

Thank you so much everyone for the tips. I'll be off to watch the video shortly, thanks Jennifery. I use a mix between my Copics, Bics, and Prismas when coloring images. Just depends on what colors I need with which ones I use.
