Frusteration!!

Sometimes computers so frusterate me. I have been trying to upload pictures and Larkin's laptop is telling me it does not recognize the device. Do you have any idea how many times I have uploaded pics on the computer. Eeerrrr!!

We just ordered me a new Dell laptop that is going to be a lap top all of my own. I am so excited I could pee my pants. Of course it's taking forever and a day to get here.

So when I get pics uploaded I'll post a blog about my weekend. My brother Robbie is home from Iraq, YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

Super Mom!

Well I had a go at playing super mom. Larkin returned back to work on Saturday. Besides one mild break down I gave myself a pat on the back for making it through. Mitch had one break down as well. He wanted me to put baby down feed him, change him, do anything with him other than hold the baby. Of course Marshall was screaming crying at the same time because he had stomach pains so that resulted in Mommy Mel having a mild breaking down.

Daddy returned back home late Tuesday night to find us all asleep. To him we looked all peaceful and that Mommy had a walk in the park but don't' worry I left him know the next day how much he was missed and how much we need him home on his off days. Of course to keep my sanity, not the boys. LOL!! Mitch so misses Daddy when he is gone. Especially now that he has to share my attention with Marshall.

Little Marshall is chunking up though. His little cheeks are getting chubby and he is eating really good. Both boys are asleep right now so I thought I would take advantage of some computer time. I just purchased (well Larkin purchased for me) a laptop. I can not wait for it to get here. It'll make my computer life a lot easier. I got an awesome deal on it and of course I had to order it in "mommy bright pink." Just to make sure all the boys in the family know who's computer it is.

Ok better get myself some rest before our 11pm feeding with Marshall. Love ya all and thanks for continuing to read. I'll post pics soon. I need to take some this weekend. We are supposed to have 70-80 degree temps this weekend yea

Settling In!

We are getting settled in really good. Tonight Marshall and I had a night home alone with Daddy took Mitch to a magic show fundraiser. Marshall stayed wide eyed and we enjoyed our time together. I'm not nervous to have both boys alone together but I know the first time is going to be a tad of an adjustment. Mitch is accepting Marshall really good but at the same time he has Larkin and I both to share our time with him. So I'll be curious to see how he does once Larkin returns to work and I have to divide my time between the two of them. I pray the jealously does not kick in then.

Today Marshall is 9 days old and is doing really good. He is drinking 2-3 oz of bottle at a time which is great for a newborn. He is still so tiny! At his 1 week appointment he weighed 6lb 3oz. We have to take him back again this Thursday for a check up because of how tiny he is. The pediatrician just wants to keep an eye on him for a good month. He said he is doing great though!! Yea little peanut!

Ok I'm getting ready for my 12am (midnight) feeding but I thought I would write a quick blog. Thanks to everyone who reads for reading!!

7 Days!

Marshall Dean is now 7 days old. Yes a whole week! Today we had our first family outing. It was a big one are you ready for this? We headed to Wal-mart and then Marshall's one week pediatrician appointment. To be honest with you, it was a big enough day for all of us. Or at least for me any way. I'm pooped out tonight. I have about 30 minutes till he wakes for his next feeding and then I'll be headed to bed for the night. I'll have to work on uploading more pictures. Everything I currently have uploaded is from the hospital and our first day or two home. We'll post more soon. For those of you that have myspace accounts I do have quiet a few pictures posted there.

Welcome Marshall Dean

We are excited to welcome Marshall Dean Newby into our family. He was born on Thursday, March 27th at 1222pm. He weighed 6lb 1oz and was 18 1/4 inches long. Tiny little guy but already getting filled with lots of love.

My c-section went a lot better than I was ever anticipating. Even my recovery is going better. They say with Mitch I was bruised from pushing for an hour and that is why I was so sore and my recovery was so long. I am really doing good though and just soaking in the love and joy of being a new mommy again.

Mitch is doing pretty good. He is not showing jealousy but at the same time he could really care less Marshall is here. Every so often he'll acknowledge him crying but that is about it. He gets more jealous when Larkin holds him then when I do.

I am really enjoying Larkin being home and know April 12th when he returns to work is going to be a hard day. He is so wonderful! A wonderful daddy and husband. He helps so much and really plays just as big of a roll in our boys lives as what I do. He cares so much about making them feel important and loved. It makes me love him as my husband so much more. Love you Larkin (don't know if he reads this blog.) :)

Anyway thank you for the prayers. I was excited to update you guys. I'm now getting ready to get Mitch ready for bed and then watch Idol. Go David Cook, Michael ? and David Archuletta. Those are my choices this year.

Count Down!

As of today (unless God has other plans) we have 5 days until we welcome baby Marshall into our family. This Thursday, March 27th is our scheduled c-section day. We go in around 730am and are scheduled for 930am. So by lunch time we should be holding our new little bundle of joy. Please pray for us as we go through this special time. Pray for my sweet Mitchell that he will survive the few days without his mommy. I'm really worried about him only because he is with me ALL the time. My mom is the next best thing to Larkin and I and that is who he'll be spending the evenings with while we are in the hospital.

Right now I'm fighting a nasty head and chest cold. Unfortunately they don't want me taking anything so I'm roughing through it. My nights have been VERY restless. So needless to say I'm very tired and ready to get this little one here. I'm excited to see his sweet little face and to play with those little fingers and toes.

Oh the joys of a newborn!!! The joys of a little one until they turn 2 and start to test and push every limit. Yes that is where my Mitch is right now. Pushing ALL my buttons!!! Speaking of Mitch I better get back to tending to him before he turns the entire house upside down. (not kidding)

Oh today the day before Easter we got about 3 inches of snow. WELCOME SPRING!!! Have a Happy Easter and enjoy your day however you might be spending it.
I'll leave you with a picture of my sweet Mitchell being the next American Idol on his $3 consignment sale piano.

Rolling Around!!

If you read my myspace blog you'll notice this one to be very similar. I had to copy and paste because my sore, swollen fingers will not let me type this twice. But if not here we go, read and enjoy cuz it took a lot of work. LOL, J/K!!!!!!

As I sit to start to write this blog little Marshall in the womb is just rollling around like a crazy man. Our count down us begun and we are more than ready. I have 3 weeks until my c-section day on March 27th. Besides being utterly miserable and feeling VERY huge everything has actually been going good. I won't make this a wine blog but yea this go around has been a little harder. I have gained more weight (I will not disclose how much) and in different areas than I did with Mitch. My hands are swollen and I have not been able to wear my wedding bands for about a month now. Yup, I'm ready!!!

I'm sure we'll probably do at least one more picture taking session before Marshall arrives. Even though I'm far from being in the picture mood I'm sure I'll someday be happy to have them. I know I love looking back on the pictures of me pregnant with Mitch. It allowed me to create a beautiful scrapbook for him.

These days I hate to see Larkin off to work. He has been home for the past 2 days and it's been great. Mitch is very full of energy and house work has really been HARD WORK for me lately. I honestly love house work and keeping my home tidy but I find myself the past 2 weeks not caring as much. Horrible, I know!! Larkin is a fabulous husband and such great help. Mitch loves his Daddy being home too!!

My next appointment is on Tueday the 11th. It's my pre-opt for my section so I'll be sure to blog updates. Take care I'm praying for all of my girlfriends that are also pregnant.

Our Day In!

We are enjoying a nice relaxed day in. If anyone has been watching the weather we are getting our first BIG winter storm. Today we are supposed to get 3-4 inches with sleet and freezing rain to top it off after the snow. They just said we have about another 24 hours left of the storm. So tomorrow evening, Wednesday, around 5pm we should see it start to tapper off. I think we already got our 4 inches though and it's still coming down.

So Mitch and I spent the day in relaxing, playing, paying bills, and tidying up. It's nice to have an excuse not to have to go anywhere. I think tonight after dinner I'm going to let him play with play dough for the first time. I'll have to break out the camera. Not sure how he'll do. He does not like dirty hands but he likes to get into messes. Tomorrow I'm hoping I can bundle him up and take him outside for our first snow pictures of the season. So, we'll see!!! Sounds like a busy stressful next couple days for us wouldn't ya say. LOL!!!

For those of you in warmer weather, enjoy!! Sorry your missing all this fun white fluff!!

We Survived!

Well we survived our Disney trip. Our weather was absolutly beautiful. It was wonderful to get away from this cold PA winter we have been having and enjoy some 70-80 degree weather. It was beautiful and sunny and perfect!!

Mitch had a long week with still recovering from his cold. He got played out real easy but had so much fun. Each day he would ask to put his shoes on to go to the park. I'm not sure what he was most exctied to see. He keeps talking about riding the race car with Daddy and Papa so that definitly has stuck in his mind.

I held up pretty good pregnancy wise. I actually came home feeling better than when I left. I think the exercise did me good. Now if I can keep my weight gain down for the next two months until this little guy comes I'll be good. :)
I think we are home bound for a few months now until after the baby is born. We might do a late summer beach trip but no plans for right now. We need to play some catch up and get the baby's room ready. We have been so slack and finances have been holding us back. So we are praying we can somewhat get caught up this month. Catch up sucks!! I have learned that you are never truely caught up with finances because somethign always creeps up. If we stayed home preparing for it we would never go anywhere.
In closing I randomly added some pictures from our Disney trip. I also have some posted on my myspace page. Everything takes so long to download so I do the best I can.
Have a great week and weekend!!

Please stay away!

Sickness please stay away! I started feeling nauseated tonight and went into panic mode. My sister and nephew got sick with the throwing up bug. Even though we were not around them during their actual "episode" we were the night before. I of course panicked because we leave tomorrow at 10am for the airport for Disney. I thought no way can I get this. PLEASE GOD!!! If anything let me get it after we get down there so we can at least make the travel. Well I took a Zantac and ate some pretzels and am actually feeling fine now. I'm hoping and praying it was just pregnancy stuff.

So I dropped Elliott off at the kennel tonight. Man I miss that big lug when he is not around. He is honestly the perfect dog for our family. Mitch was eating and I had to clean up after his dropped food on the floor cuz Elliott was not here to do it for me. (sigh) It'll be a lonely night without him. I worry about him like a child. When I dropped him off Mitch and I sat in the van for a few minutes just watching him play in the play yard making sure he was ok.

So we are headed to bed soon but just wanted to send one more quick blog out to ask for wellness prayers. :) Have a great week!

Bouncing Back!

Why is it that kids bounce back so much quicker than we do as adults. I think for my Mitch it's because he gets so focused on playing that nothing else stands in the way. Actually yesterday he was so down and out that anything probably felt better than the way he felt yesterday. He had me up till 1am last night though and the back up at 7am. Boy was I bushed today!

Baby Newby is really moving around today. I'm getting those good thumps and rolls that every mommy loves to feel. You know though, I thought I escaped the indigestion and heart burn with this pregnancy. With Mitch I had it so bad my entire pregnancy that I was on previcid every day. I could hardly eat anything. I thought with me being so far along that with this one I escaped it but NOPE!!! I have been miserable the past 3 days. My ob suggested Zantac. Has anyone ever taken this? I'm so nervous about taking anything pregnant but if they say it's ok I'm so desperate right now to be able to eat with out being in pain. Seriously EVERYTHING I eat burns going down. Even bread!

Well little man fell asleep at a descent time so I was taking advantage of the time and doing tax stuff. YUCK!! Closing out the business is not fun stuff. I'm headed to bed though. I had my fun for one night. I left you with a picture of Mitch and his best buddy!!

Infected!

Yes our house feels very infected with germs. It all started about 1 1/2 ago when I came down with a miserable head and chest cold. Being pregnant I just sorta roughed through it. Larkin came home last Monday night and brought a cold home with him. He had horrible body aches and pains, congestion, and sinus crap. Yesterday/last night my precious Mitchell started getting sick. He has been so miserable fighting a high temp all night and into today. He is so lethargic and just laying around. Does it not suck when your little ones get sick. We leave this coming Sunday for Disney so we'll be excited to get out of the house.

On Friday night even Elliott (our dog) gave us a scare. Larkin put out mouse bate and we are guessing our bottomless pit dog decided to try and get into it. We are still not sure exactly how but I came home from a friends house to find his nose swelled double in size. He also had swelling down his neck into his throat and his left side of his body. Talk about freakin' me out. So into the vet him and I went. We caught it early enough so they gave him a steroid shot for the swelling and he has to be on vitamin K-12 for 21 days. YES, 21 DAYS!!! Thank goodness he is really good at taking medicine with the help of peanut butter.

Baby Newby is back to measuring on target so we have our March 27th c-section date still scheduled. Yea!!!!

So that is the beginning of the year excitement for our family. Along with packing for Disney this week my goal is to get my little guy feeling up to par for the travel to Disney. You know little ones, they bounce back so fast. Probably after a good day at home with him he'll be feeling a lot better. I praise and thank God that I am able to be a stay at home mom with him and choose our schedule. :)

I thought I would end with some pictures. Have a great week and take care!

I am WOMEN!!!

Oh yes fun, today I got reminded of how lovely it is to be a child bearing women. **Disclaimer and forewarning to all men who are going to read this oh so fun "women" stuff.**

Today I went for my sugar testing at the obgyn. Basically to check and see if I'm developing pregnancy diabetes. Well after measuring my oh so growing belly they doctor determined that I am 27 weeks pregnant but measuring 29. At my last appointment I measured 2 weeks ahead as well. Nothing to be to concerned about. However with my past medical history with my cervix she decided to do an internal exam to check the length of my cervix. While "in there" she also wanted to perform another test to check to see if I could go into pre term labor. Can I just say OH MY GOSH!!! Ouch!! Hello doctors is all of this really necessary??

So after all that fun I had to wait about another 45 minutes before they could take my blood from drinking that lovely sugar syrup for my sugar test. Ok can I just say that I feel EVERY nurse, doctor, etc should be able to take blood and if they can't that stay the heck away from me!!!! No to be fair, I have horrible, small, rolling veins that once poked like to clot and disappear. I had 4 people poke me 4 times to take 4 vials of blood. I was sitting in the same chair for 45 minutes while everyone looked at my arms and told me how horrible my veins were. I now have a black and blue right hand, right arm, and left arm. Oh yes and the black and blue marks WILL double in size by the end of the weekend making it look like I shoot up.

So 2 hours after entering the ob office I left and made a beeline for Starbucks to make my horrible morning better. Good news though, baby is kicking like a crazy man and his heart rate is great. We go see him on January 16th for an ultrasound for baby measurements.

We had a wonderful New Years and I hope you and your family and friends did as well. We enjoyed the week with the in-laws visiting. Everyone left today and I got left with a tired little Mitchell. He had a blast!!

Correction!!

Ha, sorry, I had a brain fade last night. My mom does not have measles. She has SHINGLES!!! For those of you that are medically educated you were probably wondering how and the heck I could get chicken pocks from measles. Ha, sorry about that! For those of you that don't know, you can only get shingles if you have had chicken pocks. But if you have never had chicken pocks you can get them from someone that has shingles. But from what the medical professionals say, you can only get them if you are in contact with an open sore. Anyway, sorry for the long explanation. I just wanted to update the correction.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Out with the old!!

We had a wonderful Christmas week. Yes I say week because it was really drawn out between 3 days of gift opening. Larkin's family is coming this Tuesday so we'll get to do it all over again this week. Mitch's favorite gifts are his electronic Thomas the train set, his cars and racetrack from the movie cars, his pilot hat like Daddy's, Hess motorcycles, and Buzz Lightyear. He of course got many more gifts but this is just to list a few of the favs.
We have no big New Years Eve plans. Larkin does not get home until new years day so Mitch and I will probably hang out just us. We are getting some good snow right now so that will have us wanting to stay in. I wanted to post one more blog before the year is out. This month was so busy I find I have not blogged hardly at all.
I hope all of you had a really wonderful Christmas. It's so nice being back home around family and enjoying these holidays the way they are supposed to be, with family. This year was a little off for us though. My mom was very sick and it took about a week to find out what was going on with her. Well it came to turn out that she has measles. Oh gosh I never new they could create such pain. Now at almost 2 weeks later she is still suffering horrible from the pain. All of the medical advice she is receive is telling her to stay far away from me. With being pregnant I guess if I get it, it could lead to severe birth defects for the baby. Even though my obgyn says there is no way for me to get it, we are still being cautious. This is hard for us because my mom and I see each other just about every day. So the holidays just have not seemed the same for her and I. If you will pray for her quick recovering because she is really down and out with this horrible illness.
Well as I log off for 2007 I pray all of you have a safe New Years Eve and enjoy bringing in 2008.

Oh Darn!

So yesterday Mom and I are headed down the road to Harrisburg to get some running done. My mom was talking and in the middle of her conversation we were interrupted by a little voice in the back of the van saying "Oh Darn." We about peed our pants. Mom said it at some point and little man picked right up on it. Good thing it was not a word worse than that. LOL!!

We did get hit with about 3 inches of snow today/tonight and it's still coming down. I love a reason to get snowed in and have to stay home all day.
I felt the baby do a flip today. Ha it's the craziest feeling and I love it!!! Well I'll keep this post short. Here are two pictures to enjoy of Mitch.

Snow, Snow, Let it Snow!!

About a week ago we woke up with a few snow flurries on the ground. Mitch was so excited when he looked outside. We headed out to the living room where he peered out the front window just watching it fall. Unfortunately it only lasted about a day. Well yesterday and today we are getting bitter cold wind and snow. It's laying on the ground now. Not a lot of accumulation but oh goodness it's cold. Mitch is so excited and Elliott acts like the snow is going to melt him. Once he gets though he runs around like the crazy dog he is.

The day after Thanksgiving we put our tree up. I love this time of year. It makes the home so cozy and warm. Well warm if you can over look the bitter cold 30 degree day time weather outside. Mitch has been good so far with the tree. He broke one ornament the first night but after he realized that throwing the balls will make them break he pretty much kept his hands off of them. He brings me ornaments here and there but for the most party he is listening to mommy. I put the nativity up this weekend so that is his new toy. My mom purposely bought me a none breakable nativity that we love.

I just wanted to share some of our Christmas updates with you. We are doing good for the most part. Just getting through the financial fun of the Christmas season. We count our blessings though and thank God we are in A LOT better place than what we were last year at this time. Have a blessed week and I'll yap soon.

These pictures were taken during our first snow fall about a week ago.

Mitch very excited watching the snow fall.

Sex of the baby!

Well we went yesterday to find out the sex of the baby. We are having a BOY!! We are very excited for our two of a kind. :) Honestly we did not have a preference either way. We just feel so blessed to be having another baby. Our due date is still sticking for April 3rd. Of course with my c-section I'll go before then. I included two sweet pictures for you to enjoy.

Profile Picture! Boy he looks like Mitchell already.

Sweet feet picture! That is what keeps thumping my bladder.

Slowin' Down

Ok yea so I'm totally slowing down on my post. Our new dial up service takes so long to do just about anything. I guess it's sorta a blessing because it keeps me away from my biggest addiction, the internet. I am reading everyone's blogs. Every time I go to post a comment it locks up and gives me an internet explorer unavailable. So I'm still here and reading, sorry I have not commented. I did manage to get one picture posted in a somewhat timely manner. I'm now 20 weeks pregnant and feeling great. We find out in 1 week what we will be having. Anyone want to take any guesses for a poll???

We will be headed to NC to spend Thanksgiving with Larkin's parents. I'm really enjoying staying home with Mitch. I find myself getting bored here and there. It's an adjustment. I have not stayed home with him 100% in almost 1 1/2 years. I'm sure when the baby comes I'll be finding no down time. Mitch takes such great naps and I try and nap with him but I find myself catching up on computer time and small projects I can not do with a 2 year old. All in all things are going really good. Larkin is gone a lot working which sucks but unfortunately we are doing what we need to right now to make things work.

Mitch about 2 weeks ago. Trying to get Christmas shots.

Kickin'

The other night I was laying on my back in bed and felt this little thud. I was like ok is that what I thought it was. So I layed super still and sure enough little one was kicking way. Larkin was even about to feel it. This one is so still in the womb compared to Mitch. Mitch was a wild man in my stomach. I was so excited and have been glowing ever since. I just love being pregnant and love these feelings. Only 2 more weeks and we find out what we are having. Yea!!!
It felt so good this week to be home. I only worked Monday and Tuesday and have been off the rest of the week. I work this coming Monday and Tuesday and then I'm done completely. Well all except finalizing the "business side." That will take place over the next few months.
I hope all of you have a great weekend. We have some fun things planned so I'm sure I'll post with pictures and updates.
