CCC6

Our 6th challenge in our Crafty Critters blog group was hosted by Megrod. She came up with a wonderful idea to honor National Scrapbook Month in May. Even though we are a tad late getting this going we thought it was never to late to celebrate one of our favorite craft times.

So Challenge 6 is to do a page about you to your kids. It can be about your you met their dad, your favorite wedding picture, a poem or letter to them, a page about things you like to do with them or for them, about things you love nowadays, so that the kids can look thru their albums and say...this is what my Mom used to like when she was however old, etc....hope all this makes senseThe only catch is...you have to be the main feature of the picture. Your children want to see what your hairstyle was like, the clothes etc you were wearing. I think we often forget to Scrap ourselves.
For me this was GREAT!!! I had these pictures from work and have been trying to find a way to fit them into our family books. So this was perfect! I loved it so much that I ended up creating a double page spread. The first page pictured is the one one for our challenge.
My journaling reads: The best job I have ever had is being a mommy to Mitchell and Marshall. In June 2008 I received a job offer outside of the home. After much though and a lot of talking Larkin and I made the decision for me to work part time at the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs. It's a job I love but it also allows me to make my family top priority. My job at PFSC is different from day to day and I love the challenges it presents. It even allows me to work from hom at times. Right now it's offering me the best of both worlds.

Journaling reads: The Sportsman Channel hosted a shoot at Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers for the legislators. They are one of our business affiliates. Harrisburg Hungers and Anglers is one of our clubs.
This was my first time ever shooting a gun. My instructors were wonderful and patient. Despite my nice bruise I had a great experience.

Card Kits Galore!!

Ok I have decided that more people need to host card kit exchanges on SCS. They are so wonderful and there is nothing like having all the elements to make fabulous cards already in one place for you already coordinated. Sometimes I find myself putting 3-4 kits together in one night. My supply is getting low real quick!!!

My first card is of a Fella from Stampin' Bella. I didn't color him in and now I'm wishing I did. I might have to go back and do it. I was trying to make a card that was not so "bright" since it is a "man" card.

Second is sweet Bella. This was my first image I ever saw through Stamping Bella and fell in love with her. Is she not just so sweet!!

Here is my fella now colored in. I can't help it, I like color on my images. There are very few that I find look better without some sort of color. Even if it's just stickles to give a little "bling."

Enjoy your day!

Digital Stamps

A few weeks ago I started reading about people using digital stamps. I was very curious and started to read and explore different digital images. Thanks to a blogging friend, Jaspere (check out her blog), I'm now addicted!!!! Dustin Pike offers free images on Wednesdays so it's a great way to try images before you purchase some and discover you don't like working with them.

My fears were how would they print, would the printer ink bleed, would my Copics make the image bleed, would I be able to print them in different sizes, how would my print quality be. All these fears were answered with using the free images and two nights ago I purchased my first digital image. If you do your research you can find some really cute images for $1-3. Some are a little more expensive and some you can buy in sets to receive a discount.

This image is from Dustin Pike's site. The sentiment is from SU!.

Enjoy!

I have once again been having a lot of fun with card kits. The first of Iggy is a stamp I normally would not buy or use but I think he is actually really cute. The second is from MFT. I really need to start investing in these. I really loved working with her and now have an itch to working with MFT some more.

Scrapbook Pages (x2)

I was really in scrapbooking mode today. I received some wonderful page kits from swaps I have been in along with premade pages and wanted to put some to use. Here are some pictures of projects I worked on today.

This is the page at the begining of our 2008 family book. I thought the title was fitting since we had our youngest son in 2008.

I wanted to create a double page layout similar to the once SU! featured on the insert page of the frog page kit. So this is my version of it. I also used it to create a single page layout for a swap I'm in.

The first picture is the left side and the side I created for the swap I'm in. The second is the right side of my own personal double page set I created.
