Happy B-day Mama!!

Today I celebrate my 32nd b-day and my mom celebrated her b-day on Thursday. Her and I share the love of card making so of course I could not get away with not making her a personalized card.

She enjoys a fine glass of wine so I thought Winobella was the perfect gal to use for her card. We are all going to Disney in 5 weeks so that is why I used the sentiment "Have a Magical Day." I have just been introduced to the "bling" in the middle of the flower. I think they are one of my new, many addictions. Not sure what they are called but love them!!
I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the light purple back round and used my copics, prismas, and Bic Mark Its to color in the image.

Cuddles Kite

Ok so am I the last Cuttlebug user around to know about the Border Embossing Folders. I went to my LSS today and was so excited to find out that she is now focusing on carrying Cuttlebug items. She had an entire wall FULL of folders and diecuts. I seriously could have dropped $100-200 in about 10 minutes. I had some self control and only purchased two folders but the one was the border that has 6 different border folders in it. It's awesome and I'm so in love.

So I decided to use one on my Ildi Co Digi Team card for the week. I discovered after I had everything on my card that the embossing was actually inside out. (hey I'm still learning) I still really like the look and was excited to use it with Cuddles Kite. Hop over to Ildi (link on my left side bar) to snatch up this cute digi image.

sunshiney day

My friend Tracey on SCS sent me the most adorable b-day card for my b-day. I not only loved the card but I loved the layout. So I decided to case the card with one of the card kits that I received from the secret sister card kit swap that cspangler is hosting on SCS.

I used SU! Crystal Effects on the water, even though you can't see it. I love using this on water, it really makes it look realistic.

Tracey thank you for a wonderful card, SS on SCS, thank you for a great card kit with this adorable image. Oh yes and April for the cute Stamping Bella sentiment that she sent me.

Dragon Fighter

I love participating in different challenges. Roxie on SCS always have fabulous sketch challenges every week. I need to be more dedicated in participating in these sketches. For this challenge SC252 I decided to use a Dustin Pike Digital Image. Dustin is the first artist I was introduced to with digi images. I just still adore him and his talented work. I created this card thinking of my girl April in Germany. Her husband serves our country as a fire fighter in the military. Of course she deserves lots of props as well for being so supportive of his career. I love you girl!!

Check out the sketch challenge and check out Dustin's work. He is getting ready to have some of his images made into rubber so you'll have the flexibility to purchase them as digis or actual rubber stamps. He offers Freebies on Wednesdays so hop over to grab yesterdays up.

Disney Dining

It's been awhile since I have created anything Disney related. This swap came easy to me though. When we go to Disney there are always fabulous character dining experiences that we always take tons of pictures at. However I lack scrap products to scrap them with. So I created a Disney Dining theme featuring Pooh for a swap I'm in. I used my Cricut to weld the letters together and accented with ribbon and rhinestones.

your're an angel

I hosted a Bella card kit swap on SCS a few months back. I'm still trying to get to all the wonderful kits I received from the swap. Tonight I created this fun little Bella card that April Lower put together. I just love the rhinestone accents. I put stickels on her wings and halo to give her a little extra sparkle. Isn't she so cute!!

Fall Page Kit Layout

On Splitcost Stampers I love participating in the monthly page kit swaps. You get a secret sister that sends you two page kits. You open one on the 15th of the month and then open a reveal kit at the end of the month. They are a lot of fun!! I don't remember exactly which month this one is from but I loved it. It's been so long since I have scrapbooked family pictures, it was nice to have a kit to pull out to assemble two quick, nice pages.

On Saturday my mom and I went to a Shoebox Swap at Fancy That Scrapbook Store in Hummelstown, PA. The owner has such a fun, elegant scrapbook store and my SCS friends and I love going there.

So all of us were to create 1 fall/winter themed card and 1 b-day card. Then we all brought our cards and assembled eachothers designs. This group of ladies is so much fun to be with. I always anticipate our get togethers. Our next one is January 23, 2010 so if your PA girl or live anywhere close and want to join us, we would love to have you.

Here are the cards we made.

As much as I LOVED all of them, this was my favorite. I wish SU! still made this stamp set. :(

Who Loves You?

Today I'm fighting a horrible cold but I wanted to get my Ildi Digi Design Team post posted. On Friday I was having computer issues and for some reason could not upload pics.

So this image is from Ildi's fall line. I love this owl!! I went to a Shoebox Swap yesterday and this is the card I used for one of the two cards I was to layout and create. I had fun sharing a digi image with the girls and am hoping some of the girls will give them a try.

Ildi Co Challenge #2

I'm starting to get back on track with my crafting. I was determined to work in a challenge since it has been months since I have been able to participate in one. Of course being on the Ildi Co Digi image design team I was excited to participate in their second challenge. I have only been making cards for about 2-3 years. This is the first year I have really had a desire to make Halloween cards, thanks to Ildi's cute images.

This next challenge is a recipe challenge! What I'd love to see you all come up with is a card or scrapbook layout using:* 4 layers (can be card stock or patterned paper)* 3 embellishments and* I need see one or more PUMPKINS! The pumpkins can be one of your embellishments or they can be pumpkin patterned paper, just so long as I can find a pumpkin somewhere!Your theme can be Halloween, Thanksgiving or just general fall!

Amplee 'tude

I purchased this image quiet some time ago from Stamping Bella and shortly after became addicted to digi images. So this was a first as far as inking her up and I just adore her. I created this card for a shoebox swap that I'm going to this Saturday. I hope the girls love her as much as I do.
The paper is all SU!, the ribbon is from the ribbon outlet that I go to in Berwick, PA. I accented with stickles, primas, and a button. I used my Copics, Prisma, and Bic Mark It markers.

Happy Haunting

On SCS I'm participating in a secret sister card kit swap. The swap runs for three months and next month we get to find out who has us. We'll send card kits to our SS and reveal to them who we are. I can't wait to find out who my SS is. She has sent me some really cute kits and goodies to create cards with. This is one of the kits she sent me for October. I'm not sure what image this is but isn't it cute. Not one I would normally purchase but I loved working with it and coloring in the image. Super fun!!

Women's Ministry Cards

The Women's Ministry Director at our church asked my mom and I to help her with a girlfriend night coming up in 2 weeks. She wanted us to make cards with the girls. Most of them this will be thier first time every making cards. So we wanted to create something simple that would not turn them off from the hobby. My mom is putting together a Christmas card and I decided to do a b-day card and Thanksgiving card.

My b-day card I chose to use Ildi's adorable Cuddles Party from Ildi Co Digital Images. I thought this fun, cute little party bear would be a hit with the ladies. They will be coloring the image with Bic Mark It markers. These are easy to use and inexpensive so I don't have to worry about my more expensive markers getting ruined from to much use. ;-)

My second card I decided to use my Riley turkey image. This guy just always brings a huge smile to my face. Hanna Stamps is currently having a really great sale so you might want to pop over to her store and check this guy out. I decided to not have them color him in so they would not get to sick of coloring before the night is over.

Border Sets

I really needed to post a Ildi Design team post tonight but unfortunatly I'm running late AGAIN, bummer, so sorry!! I will have a post as soon as possible on Saturday. It's a crafting and unpacking boxes day so I hope to get a lot done.

In the mean time I thought I would share two border sets I recently completed for a swap on SCS.

Creepy Guy

My new favorite store, The Ribbon Outlet, in Berwick, PA had this fun creeeepy ribbon at only $.50 for 5 yards so I could not pass it up and thought it would be fun to use with my Ildi Design Team card for this week. The paper is from SU! and I used my Bic Mark It markers to color Ildi's image. Check out Ildi Co Digital Images online for more great fall and Halloween images. The link is on my side bar!!
