My New Years Eve Day Project

The boys and I had a great day today playing lots of games, eating, and hanging out. Part of my day also included scrubbing floors, vaccuming, and reorganizing.
I decided for the new year I needed to better organize the boys toys. It was driving me nuts that they overflowed into the living room and consumed our main living space. Our home is small so we have to make the best out of the room we have. SO my project began:
This is the area in the dining room that is going to become the boys new play room.
This is what I see every morning when I walk out of my bedroom.
A reminder of how consumed our house is by toys. As you can see the toys are taking over my craft area. HELP!!!
How in the world can I expect them to put their toys away when the toy bins are overflowing?

Mitch told me he likes his toys like this, A MESS!!! I told him mommy DOES NOT!!
So our project began. We took all the toys off the shelves and piled them up.

Yup here they are in a big pile. I decided if anyone came to visit while I was in the middle of doing this that they had to take home a garbage bag full of toys. No one came to visit!!! :(

Ah, the wonderful organization begins in the dining room, the new toy/play room.

Our dining room is so cute and we spent very little time in it. So I decided to organize and make this the boys toy room. It feels so good to have their own space for their toys. I even cleaned their bedroom out and eliminated toys in there. They LOVE IT!!
Their shelves neatly organzied. Now I need to make labels for each bin so we know what goes where.
The boys work bench area (and baby gate storage area.)
Ah now this looks more like a living space. Oh and look below, I have my craft area back. LOL!!

Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you have a wonderful, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Oh one more picture, I now see a tidy living room when I walk out of my bedroom.
I managed to get the dog, cat, Mitch, and Marshall in the picture. I think they were all grateful that I was finished.

Digital Tuesday Challenge

While trying to get my crafting mojo back after taking almost a week off I thought I could use as much inspiration as possible. So this week I decided to participate in the Digital Tuesday Challenge. This is for challenge #39, Winter Dazzling Diamonds. The challenge was to create a snow card that makes your card look sparkly like snow. We also had to use a digital image so I used one of Dustin Pike's digis. For anyone that follows my blog knows how much I love Dustin's images.
I did not stop my inspiration here. I used SC261 from SCS. I altered it a tad but used the general layout idea.

I hope you have a wonderful, safe night ringing in the New Year. We are supposed to get a dose of snow so this card is perfect for the holiday.

Warm Friendship

Sticking with my early New Years resolution to create 1 card a week from card kits, I created another card from the many card kits I have. With this kit I used SC260 from SCS sketch forum. I think this little Changito looks so warm and cuddly, I love the sentiment that the swapper sent with the image.

Enjoy ringing in your new year and be safe!!

Happy Birthday!!

I received a really fun, cute card kit from April Lower from a swap that Colleen Spangler hosted. I have joined with another one of my Crafty Critter sisters in commiting to creating atleast 1 card a week with a card kit I have accumulated from swaps. They are so fun and easy to use.
Thanks April for the cute kit and thanks Colleen for hosting the swap.
Inside of card:

Border Swap

On SCS I'm in a border swap. I love these because border sets are so easy and fun to use on scrapbook page layouts. The groups I'm in are Busy Boy and Birthday. So my border sets needed to have a boy theme and a birthday theme. I used my Cricut to make a lot of the cuts on both sets. I used an image from Stamping Bella for my Busy Boy set.

Here they are:

Little Fairy

This card is the second in the set I'm creating for Melina's swap. See the post below for more details. This swapper requested pink and green. I used another Whiff of Joy image that Jenny gave me. I'm loving these images!! :)

Blessings

My friend Melina is hosting a card swap on SCS where you get to choose what colors you would like a card to be made out of. Then 3 swappers make cards for you of your color choice and in turn you make cards for them.

Of course all the girls in my group chose pink cards. I LOVE pink but have very few pink supplies in my stash since I have two boys. The first card the swapper chose pink and brown. I love blue and brown combo so this was easy for me to do. I used a Whiff of Joy image that was given to me by my friend Jenny. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!

Sweet Thank You!

My in laws were so sweet and bought me a Cricut Expression on black Friday for Christmas. Since we were down visiting them in NC my mother in law sent me out at 5am to get it so in return I got to receive it early. As a thank you I wanted to make them a card to show my appreciation for their "sweet" gift.

I used Stamping Bellas, Coco has a Cupcake. The sentiment came with the image. I thought it was a perfect sentiment. The floral dp is Basic Grey, the yellow dot paper is Creative Memories, and the solid cardstock is Bazzill. I colored the image with my Copics, Bic Mark Its, and Prismas. The flower is a misc one I had in my stash. The card sketch is SC259, SCS's weekly sketch designed by Toy.

Teacher Gifts

I know this sounds so silly but I was so excited for my oldest son to start pre-school so I could treat is teachers to little homemade gifts. He goes to a Christian pre-school so I wanted to let his teacher know how blessed we are to have her teaching Mitchell.

He has a teacher and a teacher's assistant so I made two gifts. For his teacher I made an altered pencil holder with a tag that reads "My teacher has all the "write" stuff." For his teachers assistant I made her an altered notebook using a Stamping Bella image. I had fun doing these and now can't wait to put together their next gifts. I hope the loved them!!

Ildi Friday - Put Your Party Hat On

I love this Stamping Bella sentiment and thought it was cute to go with this top hat Snopals from Ildi Digi Images. I received the pompom ribbon in a banner kit I received that I never put to use. I thought it made cute combo. The link to Ildi's digital store is on my sidebar. Don't pass up these cute images.

Tonight we are supposed to get a good dose of snow here in PA so I thought this would be a good snow tribute card. ;)

Ildi Christmas Card

I'm finally starting to get caught up with my Christmas cards. I love this Ildi digi images. They released some adorable images for the holidays which are creating some really fun cards for our mom's group.

I used SCS card sketch SC257. Roxi always has great sketches to spark your creative side. The DP is Creative Memories. I used my Bic Mark Its to color in the Ildi image. My Cuddlebug is another obsession of mine so I used it to emboss the card stock base.

My Scrapbooking Supplies Christmas Cheer Give Away has started!!! You have until 12midnight CST to enter to win. Hop over to My Scrapbooking Supplies to see what is up for grabs and to enter your creations. The challenge is a sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch:

For my card I used my Cricut and Cuttlebug. They are my two favorite tools in my craft room. I'll never pass up the chance to use them if I can. I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder with my Cuttlebug. I then used my Christmas Noel cartridge to cut out the ornament. The image is Riley the Moose. I adore this little guy. He was my first stamp obsession away from SU! I colored him in with my Copics and Bic Mark Its. I used DCWV dp that had wording for my sentiment.
If your not able to participate in today's challenge, check back all week for more challenges to enter to win prizes. Tomorrow is a color challenge.

VSD Challenge #3

Our 3rd and last challenge was to create a card using SCS sketch SC243. This was a different sketch for me but I really liked it.

VSD Challenge #2

Our 2nd challenge for our VSD yesterday was to create 4, 1 page scrapbook page layouts. They had to be 8x8 or larger.

I have been dying to finish up the last few pages in our Disney Cruise album. We took our cruise in September of 2008. I actually completed 5 pages. Here are the pages I completed during our VSD.

VSD Challenge #1

My online Crafty Critter sisters and I did a virtual stamping day (VSD) together today. We all crafted together from 2pm -6pm EST. We had three different challenges to keep us motivated. Our first challenge was hosted by April Lower. In her post we had a challenge to create two cards, here they are.

Card #1 Monocramatic The link will take you to SCS's TLC#13. This should be interesting to see how well we work with just two colors one of those colors being a neutral color! This includes all embellishements too....so if you pick green and vanilla...you can only use that color green and vanilla for everything on your card...including your ink and embellishments!
Card #2 Paper Piecing The link is going to take you again to SCS's TLC#39. I love to do paper piecing and I would love to see you all give it a try also. The only thing I ask is that you again, make it a Christmas card.

Oh Christmas Tree

This past Monday was my design team introduction at My Scrapbooking Supplies. This is an awesome site to hop over to for paper crafting ideas. The ladies on this team are so talented and I'm honored to be creating with them.

For my first post I drew my inspiration from my youngest son's first Christmas. He was only 9 months old and loved looking at the lights on the tree. I created a card and scrapbook page layout to share with you. You'll have to hop over to My Scrapbooking Supplies to read up on the rest of the details and see the scrapbook page layout. I'll also share on the site what products I used so you can case the creations if you wish.

Swiss Pixies - Nora

After being away from my craft table for well over a week I was dying to craft up a card. Although all that was happening was creators block. I definitely am missing my mojo. I turned to SCS for a sketch layout and that still did not help much.

I chosen SC258 from Roxi at SCS. The image is a Swiss Pixies, Nora, from C.C. Designs. I purchased this image from All That Scraps. I love this line of images and think she is so precious. The DP is from K & Company with misc ribbon and brad accent. I used stickles on the snowflakes and on Nora's wings.

Cuddle Up with Cuddles

I thought this Cuddles from Ildi Digital Images was so cute. I love how he is looking at this cute little Snowman. This card was created in another attempt to get my Christmas cards done for this year before Christmas comes and goes. I used my Bic Mark Its and Prismas to color in the image. The paper is all misc paper I pulled out of my scrap stash.

Sockafellabella

I'm still playing catch up with getting my Christmas cards created. When we come home from Disney I think I'm gonna have to have a 5 a day goal to get enough created on time. ;-)

I just love Stamping Bella images. I must admit that they are one of my largest addictions. I thought this Sockafellabella was the perfect, cute image to make a Christmas card with. My Crafty Critter secret sister sent me the cute ribbon on the bottom of this card as a gift.

Enjoy!!!
